3 Common Misconceptions of CBD

Let’s face it. We all still have questions about CBD-derived products, and the list grows as the popularity of them rises. For novice and seasoned users alike, there is scientific evidence available that researchers have been working towards for decades that can answer most of your questions, not all. Even though these results are preliminary clinical trials, it’s a start to something bigger considering the testimonies are compelling, even in small numbers. As the market grows, the industry comes together to provide as much information as possible for consumers to make educated purchasing decisions. Here at Valor Craft Performance, our team is always working diligently to properly educate the public on CBD and remove the stigma that is associated with it. Let’s further assess some of the most common misconceptions and why they don’t hold much stock.

Misconception #1-CBD is illegal

One of the most talked-about misconceptions of CBD is that it’s illegal. The fact of the matter is, not all states have clear objectives for CBD. In some states, the laws will allow for retail sales of hemp-derived products, while other states have no rigid prohibitions in place against the distribution of hemp-based CBD products. Back in 2018, the Agriculture Improvement Act of 2018 was signed into law. This changed the definition of marijuana to exclude hemp (plant material that has 0.3% or less of delta-9 THC on a dry weight basis). Companies like ours have made it easy to get access to high-quality third-party tested CBD products delivered to your doorstep.

Misconception #2-CBD will get you high

Though it should be common knowledge at this point that CBD is non-intoxicating, people still tend to worry because there are such a wide variety of products available. This is why we always recommend purchasing from a brand like ours that provides a certificate of analysis to prove what is and isn’t in the product you are purchasing. Our brand also emphasizes the importance of cultivating products with knowledge, and perfecting our formulas based on how valuable they will be for our consumers. You can read more about why product quality matters here. Most CBD products are devoid of THC or contain very little to yield any intoxicating feelings. CBD was first isolated in 1963, a year before THC was introduced. It was discovered shortly thereafter that CBD will not get its users high. CBD broad spectrum products contain .001% or less of THC and will not cause you to fail a drug test, while full-spectrum CBD products contain traces of THC that comply with legal limits but have the potential to show on a drug test.

Misconception #3-All CBD is the same

CBD has the potential to enhance the daily routine for users with all kinds of lifestyles and preferences, but it’s not safe to assume that all CBD is the same. There are so many different elements that can contribute to the quality of the final product. From the seed to the sale, every step of care matters. The quality can be determined by steps taken during the growing phase, processing phase, distribution phase, or anywhere in between. Just like every other product in the world, there is more than one company that makes it, and the chance that they make it differently is high. Not everyone manufactures products the same or sources their ingredients from the same places, so this is why it is important to try different products until you find what works best for you. This is why we at Valor Craft are transparent with all our processes, and source our CBD from the most optimal growing regions of Colombia and Jamaica. We also provide a CBD guide, to assist you throughout your CBD journey.
