The cannabis plant is a wondrous plant with many different uses. It is said that the cannabis plant possesses between 80-100 cannabinoids and roughly 300 non-cannabinoid compounds. It truly is a complex plant with an array of effects born from these different compounds which can, in total, be competing with one another.
However, when isolating these compounds, it has been observed that true usefulness can be extracted from the plant. CBD is a great example of extracting a useful component from the cannabis plant and distilling it into a non-psychoactive form. Unsurprisingly, the question "what is full-spectrum CBD oil" is one of the most common. In this post, we'll answer that question and more!
What is Full Spectrum CBD Oil?
Taken right from our handy FAQ section, full spectrum CBD means that the CBD oil contains all naturally occurring cannabinoids and terpenes that are in the cannabis plant. A high quality full spectrum CBD Oil will be very high in CBD, contains smaller amounts of minor cannabinoids, and is under the regulatory limit of THC (less than 0.3%).
Contrary to this, broad spectrum CBD contains no THC but still contains lower levels of other cannabinoids which differentiates it from CBD isolate, which is a pure CBD product. Traditionally, isolate products have been considered favorable in the supplement industry but when it comes to CBD products, this isn’t always the case. As always, it depends on your reasons for using CBD and what you’re seeking out of your choice of product.
After asking the question, "what is full spectrum CBD oil", the conclusion many people come to is that full-spectrum CBD is a desirable product because they want the additional compounds found within.
Should I Use Full Spectrum CBD Oil or Broad Spectrum?
With any supplementation, there’s typically an array of products to choose from. Many people ask themselves whether they should use full-spectrum CBD oil or broad spectrum, or even isolate.
Full spectrum CBD oil is said to promote what is known as the “entourage effect”. Considering that CBD is a part of the cannabis plant, which when whole contains a myriad of different compounds and effects in the body, it isn’t surprising to learn that there are synergies.
Naturally, when CBD is isolated in its pure form, there’s always the potential to lose the synergistic effects of the removed compounds. Considering that many people choose to use CBD for various reasons, considering the quality of the CBD products you are using is one of the most important factors to the overall effectiveness.
The Valor Craft line of CBD products are comprised of full spectrum CBD oil sourced from regions that are capable of yielding the high quality product our customers have come to expect. Manufactured under cGMP (Current Good Manufacturing Practices), we believe our CBD to be some of the best in the business when it comes to quality and potency.
Broad spectrum CBD oils can also provide an entourage effect because they have additional compounds within them. The benefit of a broad spectrum oil is that it doesn’t contain any THC, unlike full spectrum. However, it’s important to remember that all CBD products must have below 0.3% concentration of THC for them to be considered non-psychoactive and/or legal in states where marijuana is not fully legal to the public.
While the jury’s not out on how much even a minimal amount of THC can “affect” you, some people feel as though they can mitigate any potentially strange feelings or placebo effect if they stick to a CBD oil that doesn’t contain THC. While the full synergy of CBD and THC is desirable, it is completely understandable in some scenarios that it would be better to take a supplement that doesn’t contain THC.
